America Georgina Ferrera, a Honduran-American actor born on the 18th of April 1984, is the Emmy winner for her performance as the principal character in Ugly Betty. She has also starred in Real Women Have Curves, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, its sequel Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, and The Dry Land, and played a minor role in the skateboard biopic Lords of Dogtown (2005). She is also voice actor, having been the voice of Astrid the Viking in How to Train Your Dragon. On the 16th of September in 2007 Ferrera won an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress - Comedy series for her Ugly Betty role, the first Latina to be awarded in this category. She was just 23 when she won, making her the youngest winner in Emmy history for that category. She was Carmen as she wrapped filming The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 in the summer of 2007. She also supplied the voice of one of the nature fairies in Tinkerbell (2008). The Dry Land, which was a premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010, was also shown at Dallas International Film Festival. The film won the Filmmaker Award For Best. Ferrera met Ryan Piers Williams for the first time when he directed her in a student film at University of Southern California. The couple got married in June of 2010. He presented her with a ring worth $70,000.
