Sara Evans Bio

Sara Lynn Evans was born in Boonville Missouri on 5 February 1971. She grew up on a farm, along with six siblings. Sara Lynn Evans was the first to be named the lead singer of a large family band. An accident struck at the age of eight and led her to decide to become a singer. An automobile accident forced her to sit on the back of a chair and sing in order to pay the medical expenses. Evans began singing at nightclubs in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 16. She relocated to Nashville, Tennessee when she was twenty-one with the intention to become a more prominent musician. She met fellow musician and was given the opportunity to become a household name.Craig SchelskeShe then got married to Schelske in 1993. Spending a little time in Oregon, Evans and Schelske returned to Nashville and began recording demos. One of them, entitled "Tiger by the Tail" landed her to a contract with RCA Nashville.She launched her debut album "Three Chords and the Truth" under the label, and garnered praise from Billboard, CMT and MVPA. The second album, "No Place That Far", was released in 1998. Her popularity increased following that album. The No. one hit single, "No Place That Far," was a duet she performed together with Vince Gill. It reached the No. 1 on the Country charts and then entered the Billboard Hot 100 Top 40.
