Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi was conceived in Chennai, India on September 1st, 1970. Lakshmi lost her parents at the age of 2 years old. Her mother left India to avoid the stigma of divorce in India and moved to the United States. Lakshmi was a part of her maternal grandparents in Chennai for two years before joining her mother in the United States. The couple divorced and Lakshmi has a younger brother and sister. Lakshmi's name has been linked to the Hindu goddess, wealth and prosperity. Her birthplace was in New York and raised in Los Angeles. She traveled to India every year for several months to see her family. Padma Lakshmi started acting in 1999. She was first seen in the film "Figlio of Sandokan", which was an Italian pirate film. Next, she did a role in 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers), a drama about 17th century pirates. In 2001, she portrayed an amusing supporting role in the American film 'Glitter in which she was a disco-singing singer. Padma has a daughter with Adam Dell (a venture capitalist). Krishna was born on February 20, the 20th of February, 2010. Teddy Forstmann was her ex-chairman. He is currently the CEO of IMG. Lakshmi is dating American venture capitalist Adam Dell and the pair have a daughter together, Krishna. While she had initially kept her identity and location of her child's father a secret, Lakshmi revealed that he was Dell. She claimed that everything is better when she's with her daughter. "Anything from morning till the night. I have no desire for anyone else than her.
