Rowan Blanchard Bio

Rowan Blanchard, a U.S. actress, was born October 14, 2001. She was featured on the 2015 list of Time's the most influential teens. Her first fame was for her performance as Rebecca Wilson in Spy Kids: All the Time in the World (2011), and also for her breakout role as Riley Matthews on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World (2014-2017) and both of them earned her Young Artist Award nominations. In the past, she's played roles in the role of Jackie Geary on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs (2017-2018), and Alexandra Cavill in the TNT series Snowpiercer (2020-present). Blanchard was born in Los Angeles, California, to Elizabeth and Mark Blanchard-Boulbol who are yoga instructors. Her paternal grandfather is from Syrian, Armenian and Lebanese heritage, while her maternal grandmother hails of England, Denmark and Sweden. Her paternal great grandparents met in Aleppo the city of today's Syria. The name of her was inspired by an character from Anne Rice's The Witching Hour. Rowan has two younger siblings, Carmen and Shane. Blanchard began acting when she was five years old. She was first cast as Mona's daughter in The Back-up Plan. Later, she was part of the main cast for Disney Junior Original Series Dance-a-Lot Robot's Caitlin. In 2011 she was selected as Rebecca Wilson in Spy Kids: All the Time in the World and also as Raquel Pacheco in Little in Common. In the latter part of January, Blanchard was cast as Riley Matthews in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World. She also sings the show's title song, along with co-star Sabrina Carpenter. The character in question is daughter of Cory and Topanga from Boy Meets World. She was an active Disney Channel Circle of Stars member. Blanchard was part of the Disney Channel Original Movie Invisible Sister as Cleo early in January 2015.
