Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora, a British music producer and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari), and Besnik Sahatciu. She is a granddaughter of director Besim Sahatciu. At age one, her family made the decision to move to the United Kingdom. She was born in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School at Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing at an early stage of her life. In 2004, she was a part of the British movie Spivs. After auditioning for Eurovision Your Country Needs You (BBC One), she was chosen to represent the United Kingdom in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She then opted out of the contest after a couple of episodes, feeling that the stage wasn't prepared. Ora's first music release was in 2007, when she featured in Craig David's track "Awkward", and again in 2008 on "Where is Your Love" with Tinchy Stryder. She also appeared in music videos. Ora started singing in bars throughout London. A few days later, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z, an A&R informed Roc Nation about Ora. Ora appeared in Jay-Z's 2009 music video for "Young Forever" and "Over" from Drake. Ora was noticed by Jay-Z and he quickly signed her up to Roc Nation, in which she was featured in the commercial for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was the owner of a pub and she began her singing performances from the same bar. She cites Gwen Stefani as a major influence in terms of demeanor and No Doubt's "Don't speak" (1996) as one of her most cherished songs.Her video for Tezenis's, The Silk Code, is the title of a novel which won the Locus Award for Best First Science Fiction Novel in 1999.She was considered for the role of Iris West in Justice League (2017) prior to the time that Kiersey Clemons was chosen as the character. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran have been friends for a while.
