Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) she was Director of the national office at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright, a pharmacist executive. She was born in San Diego. When she was 14
years old, she started her professional career as a model. She was a model in
Paris and Japan. She chose to become an actress after she graduated high
school. She was cast in the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was
nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy. Dane Witherspoon was her fellow cast
participant, and she got married to him in 1986. In 1987, she portrayed the
title role in The Princess Bride. When she left Santa Barbara, she was offered
the lead in Denial (1990) along with Jason Patric. In the year 1990, she was in
State of Grace (1990) in which she was introduced to actor Sean Penn, by whom
she had a daughter named Dylan Frances, and a son, Hopper Jack. Robin was back
in Hollywood with Tara, one of the most important roles in her career,
following her time. She was absolutely stunning and amazing. She then appeared
in Toys (1992) together with Robin Williams, and she performed a hilarious
role. Wright was part of 1994's blockbuster sensation Forrest Gump (1994) with
Tom Hanks. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her role in the film as
Jenny. She got a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) in which she starred
Jack Nicholson. After refusing 14 roles, she was offered the title role in
MGM/UA’s Moll Flanders (1996). The movie was directed by Pen Densham and
featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard Channing, and Morgan Freeman. Later, she
appeared in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997), with William Hurt.
