Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actor as well as a
director and musician. She has directed numerous episodes of TV such as Chicago
Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She was also the Co-EP/Producing
Director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018) and is currently directing two
pilots in development. Milena was among eight women who were selected by AFI's
highly regarded Directing Workshop for Women. She was also a participant in the
Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Her short film and TV
series proof-of-concept , Unspeakable which starred Laura Vandervoort and Jeff
Kober, featured its World Premiere at SXSW and won the Best Episodic Award at
the Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo
International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017) has been shown
across the nation and was awarded the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film
Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest, and the Director's Choice
Award at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor Milena has appeared in
more than 100 shows of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's
Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of
Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006), the Dick Wolf series, was
her second main role. It led to her being the Emmy-winning female detective in
Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It
or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding
Carter (2014) have all featured her or featured her in reruns. Milena has
appeared in many films which include Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance
(2011) with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) which starred alongside
Method Man; as well as #Lucky Number (2015). Born in Norman, Oklahoma, Milena
was valedictorian of high school, and then enrolled in her double major in
singing and pre-med, with minors in dance and violin at the University of
Central Oklahoma, as well as graduating valedictorian. Then she benefited from
her ballet and classical training to perform on Broadway in the production by
Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes of 'Cabaret' at Studio 54.
