Amy Poehler

  Amy Poehler was born September 16 1971. She is an American comedian and actress. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and Improv Olympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. The group moved to New York City in 1996 and their show was adapted into the subject of a half-hour sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 1998. Poehler was the first member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She was also a part of the Saturday Night Live cast in 2001. From 2004, when she was the co-anchor of the SNL's Weekend Update until 2008, she was a part of the cast as Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation. She played the role of a voice actor in the movies Shrek the Third and Horton Hears a Who Free Birds. Poehler is the executive producer for the TV show Welcome to Sweden. She is also the producer of the television series Broad City, Difficult People. Duncanville. Three Busy Debras. and Russian Doll. From 2015 to 2015 she was the voice of Eleanor for the live-action/CGI Alvin and the Chipmunks movie franchise. She was then replaced by Kaley Cuoco. In December 2015, Poehler received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her work in television. She was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 2014 for Best Actress, Comedy Series or Television Musical Series, and a Critics ' choice Award in 2012 for Best Actress, Comedy Series. Tina Fey won the Primetime Emmy Award for the year 2016 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
